"Biblical Fashion Statements": Reflections on Parashat Tetzaveh

Dear Friends,

Please follow this link to a personal favorite sermon that I composed in contemplation of Parashat Tetzaveh, which is read this week.

This image will prove very helpful in your visualization of the priestly garments under consideration.

Stay warm and dry, and keep studying!

  1. Rabbi Blake, I loved your Dvar Torah! It was hilarious ...sacral vestments = fancy clothes :)

In reaching out for a little holiness here, I have to question the judgment of our forebears in attributing cross-dressing in dirndls to "dignity and adornment"... but, hey, different strokes for different folks. Maybe that's why I'm not a Levi. I'd like to see the faces on our Temple's Dress Code Committee when our rabbi hagadol enters the sanctuary wearing one of these... Dude... :)
